Bridgeport 2010 :: Personal

Bridgeport, California is our home away from home.  We camp there at least once a year and Scott has been going there since he was born and Scott’s dad has been going there since he was a boy, so it’s basically a family tradition.  This year was the first time we were actually able to get away for a full week, which still flew by so fast but was so relaxing!  We met the family there and the boys immediately went off fishing.  I didn’t get much fishing in since we brought both of our dogs and they’re a bit of a handful, especially if we’re near the water Cody is immediately in the water splashing around, scaring the fish away.  Our good friends Aimee, her hubby Mike and their adorable son Jonah joined us camping as well.

Lower Twin Lake, just less than a mile from our campsite.

A happy puppy!

Tired boys!

Bridgeport has a bunch of beautiful hot sprints.  This one is called Buckeye and is very popular.

This hot spring is called Traverteen and isn’t as well known, and I’m not giving the secret location away.

The guys fly fishing.  Scott’s dad to the right, Scott in the middle and Scott’s brother to the left.

Aimee found the perfect wine for our camping trip.  Unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy it.

Proof that my mother-in-law is so excited for her grandson to come camping with us next year.  She bought little mockison’s for little Evan.

It seems like the deer become more friendly every year.  Aimee and Jonah were able to pet them and on our last night we had 11 deer in our campsite, 4 of them babies.  Jonah called it a “deer party”.

Joel & Belinda, Sneak Peak :: Sacramento Wedding Photographer

Today was another gorgeous and fun wedding!  The ceremony was at this awesome Catholic Church in Santa Rosa that had amazing architecture and the Reception was at the Hyatt just up the road.  I can’t even begin to express how beautiful of a bride Belinda made and I just love these two.  I think the highlight of my day was when we were doing the bride and groom formals and I asked Belinda if she was ok with sitting on the ground in her dress and she said “Yes, anything for great pictures,” and great pictures we got because these two are just so adorable!  Here’s a sneak peak from their day, more to follow, I promise.

Chris & Paige :: Wedding Sneak Peak

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Chris and Paige’s wedding at Edgewood Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe and it was such a beautiful day!  Normally I post a wedding recap in pictures on my blog a couple days after the couple’s wedding but I informed Paige I wouldn’t be able to do it this weekend as I have another wedding today and then Sunday I am taking a week vacation to get some much needed R&R camping in Bridgeport.  Every year we take a family trip to Bridgeport and it’s a great way to rejuvenate.  I will have very limited phone and internet access and will only be able to check both once a day so please be patient with me as I will return your emails and calls as soon as I can.

Seattle, Washington

I had never been to Seattle, so when Amber and Daniel booked me for their Seattle wedding I was so excited to conquer a new city!  Scott and I had a blast being tourists for a day and checking out everything we could in a short amount of time.

We did the Underground Tour which was so awesome!  We learned a lot of Seattle’s history which was so interesting and to see what used to be the city in the early 1900s was really cool.

This is a skylight for the underground.  From street level you would never know, it just looked like a grate.

Our next stop was the Aquarium.

The Sea Otters were my favorite part.  I could’ve watched them all day.

And then, of course, the Space Needle.

And a shot from the ferry at night.

Daniel & Amber, July 23, 2010 :: Seattle, Washington

I had never been to Washington, so when a friend and former client of mine contacted me to try and find a photographer for her best friend who was getting married and lived in Seattle I was more than happy to help!  I talked with Amber over the phone for probably an hour or so and it was official, I was flying up to her to photograph her wedding and I was so excited!  Daniel and Amber are such a sweet couple, they go together so well and their friends and family were a blast to hang out with!

Daniel and Amber were married at the Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, Washington.

Amber, you are so stunning!

Amber and Daniel chose to do a First Look, and after they saw each other Amber said she was so happy they did this because she felt a relief of stress and felt like she could relax a bit now.

Their dog, Charlie, was the most handsome ring bearer!

Amber is part Hawaiian and was so looking forward to the hula dancer and Hawaiian band that played before and after the ceremony.

These two aren’t really the cake type, so they decided to do a small cake and ice cream!

Doesn’t that look delicious?!  Yes, my mouth was watering.  I have never seen a line at the cake table at a wedding other than little kids waiting for their piece but let me tell you, every single person at this wedding was in line for a scoop of ice cream, and I don’t blame them!

Don’t mind Amber’s double fisting, this girl knows how to have a good time!
