Jamaica :: Anniversary Trip

Last Thursday Scott and I got away for a little vacation to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary.  We went to Ocho Rios, Jamiaca.  I have been to the Caribbean on a cruise a few years back but never went to Jamaica and Scott, well this was the first time out of the country, he was just excited to have a Passport!  We had such an amazing time on the island, learned about the Jamaican culture and drank lots of Jamaican rum!  We stayed at the Sandals Dunn’s River Resort which I highly recommend, it was absolutely beautiful, the people were so friendly and the food was really good!  Anyone wanting to get away for a vacation or for your honeymoon I would highly recommend one of the Sandals resorts, Scott and I are already talking about which island we want to visit next and we will definitely be staying at the Sandals.  We came home with a nice tan and lots of stories and pictures to share!  Here are just a few from our adventure.

We saw a lot of wood carvings for sale.  Of course the great Bob Marley

Enjoying the view drinking my Jamaican Smile (like a pina colada mixed with strawberry daquiri = yummyness!)

Jamaica is not known for their sunsets like Hawaii is but this was the best one we saw…not too bad.

One of the highlights of our trip was riding a Jamaican bobsled and zip lining through the rain forest.  We took what looked like a ski lift to the top of the mountain and this was the view we had all the way up.

We spent a lot of time in the pool and at the swim up bar, it was so relaxing.

On our actual Anniversary, Monday the 26th, the resort put on a buffet on the beach (perfect timing I know!), so this was our view while we ate our delicious dinner.

I ran into this problem a lot, since the weather is so humid and our hotel room was nice and cool whenever I would bring the camera outside to take a picture the lens would fog up.  That’s what happened with this picture but I still love it so I kept it.  It’s a picture on our balcony…no ocean view but a nice view of the palm trees and mountains.

*It was recommended that I not take my good camera out of the resort with me so most of the images were taken with my point and shoot camera.

This one goes out to the one I love

April 26, 2008 is the day that I married my best friend and my one true love, and will go down as one of the best days of my life!  Ok, I know that’s corny but I can’t help it, I’m a hopeless romantic.  I can’t even believe how fast 2 years has flown by and yet it still feels like Scott and I just got married yesterday.  Every morning I wake up next to my handsome husband, our two kitties on my pillow, our chocolate lab Cody at our feet and our black lab/chow mix on his doggy bed at the foot of the bed and I thank God for the life he has given me and that I have worked hard for and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Here is one of my favorite wedding pictures
