A late Birthday Present/Early Christmas Present :: Personal

Scott and I got a HUGE surprise this past Saturday, our baby boy Evan decided it was time for him to grace us with his presence!  I went into the hospital around 10am Saturday morning afraid that my water had broke and sure enough it did and he was on his way here!  At 11:14 that night he finally came out to say hi and we couldn’t be more excited and happy!  Since he is 5 weeks early he has had to stay in the hospital because his lungs haven’t fully developed yet but everyday he is progressing and getting stronger, but at 5Ibs 12oz he is a very healthy little boy.  We are so close to bringing him home now and it’s killing me everytime we have to leave him at the hospital.  But we are practically living at the hospital right now just admiring our little blonde miracle.  I can’t wait to get him home and start photographing him without all of the wires connected to him and believe me I will post pictures as soon as I can.  Thank goodness I’m a planner and have had his nursery ready since November!

I apologize if I am slow at returning emails and posting blog posts, though I have a ton to get up.  I will respond as soon as I can and get pictures up on the blog as well.

Babymoonin’ :: Personal

Scott and I took a quick get-away mostly for my birthday, which is today, but also for one last trip just the two of us before life changes forever.  We headed to the coast near Jenner, a place called Timber Cove.  The weather was perfect driving up there, and Scott and I had never even traveled that far up the coast so it was a new experience for both of us.  We stayed in a beautiful hotel called the Timber Cove Inn right on the bluffs overlooking the ocean.  To our surprise we were upgraded to an oceanview King suite with a fireplace and huge jacuzzi tub, it was the perfect place to unwind and relax.  What had influenced my decision to travel here was a Babymoon package the hotel offered which included couples massages, complimentary breakfast and a late check-out….they had me at couples massage!  A little while after arriving and getting settled into our room we heard a knock on the door, it was Cindy with Mellow Mommy.  She was here to give us our massages, and I couldn’t be more excited and happy to see her.  My pregnancy has been going very well, can’t complain about too much other than my whole body aches constantly, especially my back.  Scott let me go first and let me just say, Cindy was amazing!  Between listening to the waves crash and her rubbing out all of my tension and stress, it was definitely what I needed.

For any expecting couple looking for a get-away before your baby comes, I highly recommend taking a babymoon!  It was just what Scott and I needed, we were able to relax and just enjoy each other, because I’m sure once our little Evan is born life is going to become a bit crazy and fun but we won’t have many opportunities to just get out of town just the two of us.

Charlie & Nicki :: Fearless Bride

I just love these Fearless Bridal Sessions!  It’s an opportunity to do things you normally wouldn’t do on your wedding day without time constraints and stress.  Nicki and Charlie were married this past July and unfortunately I wasn’t able to photograph their wedding but was so excited when Nicki emailed me wanting to schedule a Fearless Bridal Session!  I had so much fun with these two and they were literally down for anything, and I love them for that!  They put all their trust in me and let me have a ton of creative fun!  After our session Nicki had this to say,

“If anyone were to ask Charlie and I “If there was one thing you could change from your wedding what would it be” the ONLY thing we would say is our photographer. Yesterday we were finally able to capture the last piece of our fairy tale and begin the chapter of Happily Ever After! Thank you Jackie for coming to our rescue and capturing the details we had dreamed of with an amazing after session.”
