How to prepare for your Engagement Pictures :: Sacramento Engagement & Wedding Photographer

Spring is all around us which means that if you’re engaged it’s a great time to plan for your engagement session.  Starting in March all the way through the end of the year, really, is the most popular time to get Engagement pictures done, but you might wonder how you should prepare for your session.  At Jacqueline Photography, we believe having an engagement session is important for several reasons. First, this time allows you, as a couple, to get comfortable in front of the camera, and figure out how we work best together before the main event. This is also a great opportunity for the 3 of us to get to know each other better, which in turn allows us to capture your personalities better.  Next, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting, while creating some fun, memorable images for wall portraits, your wedding guest book, guest signature board and Thank You cards (shot early enough, we can also provide the images for your Save the Date cards and invitations). Best of all, you can remember this special time forever with personal memories of just the two of you, away from the throngs of loved ones and friends.

Some tips to consider when doing an engagement session:
* Schedule at least your makeup trial run for the day of your session so you can see how the makeup photographs and feel extra fabulous for pictures.
* Let your personalities shine in your wardrobe choices.  Feel free to mix and match and choose colors you feel comfortable in and compliment your skin, and accessorize!  Feel free to bring more than one outfit as well.  If you’re a t-shirt and jeans type of couple then rock that look, don’t try to dress outside of what you wouldn’t normally wear otherwise you’ll look back at the pictures and think that it doesn’t look like you.

We can discuss the details of your session further.

Tim & Krystle :: Fearless Bride

For years now I have been envisioning putting a bed in a field of flowers, but it was something that just sat in my head until now!  I photographed Tim and Krystle’s wedding last April, and they are so awesome for wanting to do a Fearless Bridal session, I love them for that!  This session is so much fun because Krystle gets another excuse to wear her wedding dress and we aren’t worried about time constraints like we are on the wedding day and we can really focus on the two of them and do some really fun and a little crazy things.  I have to tell you though, I didn’t expect the bed in the field to turn out so awesome and sexy, I am so stoked with how it came out and Tim and Krystle are always such a blast to work with and always let me have creative freedom, even when I ask them to do the craziest things.  I love you guys and I can’t wait to see you again when it’s time for baby! 😉

Gavin & Sierra :: Newborn, Sacramento Twins Photographer

These little loves came into the studio at just over 5 pounds each and they were so sweet and so fun to photograph.  I can’t wait to document their first year of life!

Calen :: Newborn, Sacramento Newborn Photographer

Mr. Calen was an absolute doll for his modeling debut and I cannot wait to document his first year of life!

Family :: Real Life, sometimes. Sacramento Family Photographer

Having a family is not always laughter and rainbows, sometimes it’s screams and tantrums (from both parents and kids).  And it’s OK, that’s real life, so why not document real life?!  I love this family so much, I’ve photographed all of their kids’ when they were newborns so I’ve gotten to know them very well over the years, and I can say that this totally sums up their daily life and I love that when they came in to view their images they said the same thing “this is so us”.  Of course I strive to capture the happy moments as well as the in between moments, and in 20 years when this family looks back at this image, they will laugh and remember what life was really like with 3 small kiddos.
