Happy Father’s Day!

I love Father’s Day because it’s a day where I get to spend the day with my dad.  We have a lunch “date” once a month to catch up on life, but on Father’s Day we always do something extra special and I think we have started a new tradition, lunch in Old Sacramento and a Rivercats game.  My dad and I have always been close, even though my parents have been divorced since I was 5 he was always there for me and supported me through everything I did.  Growing up, I was the boy my dad never had.  I was into sports and I think he enjoyed living out his dreams of playing sports through me since my grandma never let him play when he was growing up.  From Softball and baseball (with the boys) to Soccer and even a little Volleyball, I played it all and my dad was at every single game, my biggest (and loudest) cheerleader.  I am so grateful to have a dad like him, so supportive and loving.  When I was getting ready to apply to colleges I told my parents I wanted to be a photographer my mom thought I was crazy and could never make a living do such a thing (she was just looking out for me, I know) but my dad said “Go for it!!”  From day one he has always taught me to go after my dreams and has always made me write down my goals so I can aspire to do great things and never give up on myself, and for that I am so grateful.

My dad was always the man behind the camera growing up, literally every where we went he had the camera and was snapping pictures (sounds familiar), so I don’t have a lot of pictures of just him and me but the ones I do have I cherish.

Happy Father’s Day dad and to all of the dad’s out there, enjoy this day with your family!

I remember my dad always telling me to wave at the camera and boy would I!
